The Bruce

Hocking Hills, Ohio Lodging

One of the three West Crofts in the Hamlet, the Bruce Croft contains images of Robert the Bruce set on a warm golden palette signifying the romantic side of chivalry. The words carved in the mantle are the exact words that are cut in the stone that covers the grave of the heart of Robert at Glastonbury. Robert the Bruce was the king who changed the face of Scotland. He picked up the freedom gauntlet from William Wallace and proceeded to confront the English in the battle of Bannockburn.

Two handsome glider chairs near the grand fireplace are reminiscent of Robert the Bruce and Elizabeth De Burgh’s thrones. The view from the corner desk overlooks the ravine named Bannock Burn. Other features in one of these Hocking Hills cottages include a King-sized bed, small kitchenette, an entertainment center with TV & Blu-Ray player, a stone fireplace, a large bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a private deck and hot tub for two.
