At Glenlaurel, A Scottish Inn & Cottages, we’ve always believed in the harmony between nature, wellness, and exceptional hospitality. This season, that philosophy is taking root—literally.
Our restaurant manager, Kathy, has launched an exciting microgreens project in partnership with the USDA, right here on our estate. The goal: to move Glenlaurel’s culinary offerings toward hyper-local ingredients that not only elevate flavor but also maximize health benefits.
We’re currently cultivating:
- Radish microgreens – bold, peppery, and great for immunity
- Sunflower shoots – nutty, protein-rich, and satisfyingly crisp
- Beet greens – vibrant, earthy, and antioxidant-packed
- Curly greens – full of texture and nutritional variety
These greens are already finding their way into our chef-prepared menus, bringing freshness straight from garden to plate.
Looking ahead, Kathy plans to expand into seasonal flower fields on the Glenlaurel grounds—creating dreamy spaces perfect for wedding portraits, peaceful picnics, or simply savoring the natural beauty of the Hocking Hills.
We’re deeply proud of this team-led effort to cultivate beauty, flavor, and sustainability—another step in making every Glenlaurel experience truly unforgettable.
