Are you curious about fine dining, but afraid to go gourmet? Here are three helpful tips to get you through your first 6 or 7 course fine dining experience at Glenlaurel:
1. You’ll be sumptuously satisfied, not full-to-bursting with food.
Fine dining, like that at Glenlaurel, is elegant and well-balanced; each course is specifically created to work with the others to create a deliciously decadent experience. You won’t need rolled down the hill to your accommodation after dessert – we promise!

2. We won’t laugh at you if you use the wrong fork.
We’ve all been there. But here’s an easy tip: just remember to work from the outside to the inside. Start your meal by using the utensils furthest from your plate, and work your way in throughout the courses.
Hint: The teeny-tiny spoon is for the sorbet course. This housemade frozen delight is meant to be a refreshing palette cleanser between your salad and entrée courses.
3. Social hour may be over, but you can indulge in another glass of wine. (Or two!)
Our Loch Ness Pub Social Hour starts at 6 every evening, and your meal begins promptly at 7. But the Innkeeper’s call to dinner doesn’t mean you have to chug that bottle of Belhaven – you can continue to enjoy your refreshments as you enjoy your meal. So go ahead, select an amazing bottle of wine from our full-service bar at social hour – the servers would be happy to bring it to your table for you.
Now that you’re in the know, be sure to join us for an unforgettable candlelit dinner the next time you stay at Glenlaurel!
